Report on Felicitation Ceremony for Green Campus Accreditation of the College The Department of Environmental Science, Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag, on 14 October 2026 by organized a felicitation ceremony for Green Campus Accreditation in the Seminar Hall of the college. The programme was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Khalida Hassan, Principal, Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag, and Mr. Adil Ahmad Bhat, Programme Officer J&K and Ladakh UT, Green Campus Programme, Climate Reality Project India & South Asia. The programme commenced with introductory remarks by Prof. Sayar Yaseen HoD Environmental Science, with a focus on the importance of environmental responsibility and sustainable practices in the colllege. A significant highlight of the programme was the felicitation ceremony recognizing the Green Campus Accreditation of Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag, by Climate Reality Project India & South Asia. The ceremony acknowledged the institution's commitment to environmental sustainability and its efforts towards promoting environmentally responsible practices on campus. The recognition served as an encouragement for the college to continue strengthening its green initiatives, environmental awareness programmes and sustainable campus practices. The occasion highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability into institutional functioning and inspiring students to become responsible environmental citizens. Prof. (Dr.) Khalida Hassan, Principal of the college, also addressed the gathering and acknowledged the significance of the Green Campus Accreditation, describing such recognition as an encouragement to further strengthen the institution's commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. She encouraged students to adopt environmentally responsible habits in their everyday lives, minimize waste generation and actively participate in initiatives aimed at maintaining a clean, green and healthy campus. Her address reinforced the institution's commitment to promoting sustainability through awareness, participation and collective action. The vote of thanks was proposed by Jannisa Showkat, a student of the 3rd Semester. She expressed gratitude to the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Khalida Hassan, for her encouragement and support, and thanked Mr. Adil Ahmad Bhat, Programme Officer, Green Campus Programme, Climate Reality Project India & South Asia. for his valuable contribution in making the college campus to be recognized as green campus. She also acknowledged the efforts of the Department of Environmental Science and students who contributed in making the programme meaningful and successful.
