Institute Innovation Cell DETAILED REPORT Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 Boot Camp Institute Innoation Cell of GDC Women Anantnag in collaboration with The District Centre Anantnag of the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Anantnag Successfully Hosted Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 Boot Camp on 05/06/2026 The District Centre Anantnag of the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), in collaboration with Institute Innovation Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Women’s Anantnag, successfully conducted a Boot Camp under Startup Idea Challenge 2.0. The boot camp provided an engaging platform for students and aspiring entrepreneurs to transform innovative ideas into viable and sustainable business ventures. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Khalida Hassan, Principal, GDC Women’s Anantnag, who shared valuable insights on promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among college students. Dr. Touseef Ahmad, Convener Institute innovation Cell Startup and Incubation Cell, GDC Women’s Anantnag, welcomed the initiative and highlighted the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial thinking among the youth. Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Anantnag, delivered an informative session on the J&K Startup Policy, outlining the financial incentives, mentorship opportunities, incubation support and other institutional mechanisms available to aspiring entrepreneurs and emerging startups. The boot camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, along with aspiring entrepreneurs, startup founders and representatives from JK Bank. During the interactive Idea Challenge sessions, participants presented innovative business ideas in areas including sustainable waste management and agriculture. The jury panel provided valuable feedback, technical guidance and suggestions to help participants refine their ideas and develop stronger, market-oriented business models. The event concluded with an interactive and engaging session, reflecting the growing enthusiasm among students towards entrepreneurship and innovation. The initiative further strengthened the collaborative efforts of JKEDI and GDC Women’s Anantnag in promoting a vibrant startup culture and encouraging young minds to explore entrepreneurship as a pathway to self-employment and sustainable economic development.
