REPORT National Anthem Singing Competition As part of the ongoing celebrations marking the 80th Independence Day of India, the NSS Wing and NCC Unit of Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag organized a National Anthem Singing Competition in the College Conference Hall. The event was conducted under the patronage and overall supervision of the worthy Principal, Dr. Khalida Hassan. Venue: College Conference Hall, GDCW Anantnag Date: 05/08/2026 Organizers: NSS Wing and NCC Unit Patron: Dr. Khalida Hassan, Principal Participants: 10 entries comprising 3 group renditions and 7 solo performances Jury Panel: Dr. Awquib Sabahat, Prof. Masroofa Qadir, and Prof. Farrukh Rana The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who presented soulful and inspiring renditions of the National Anthem. The performances reflected a deep sense of patriotism, unity, and respect for the nation, creating a solemn yet inspiring atmosphere throughout the event. Result First Position: Munazah Zameer The programme successfully instilled a spirit of patriotism and national pride among the participants and the audience alike. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Khalida Hassan appreciated the dedicated efforts of the NSS Wing, NCC Unit, the members of the jury, and the participating students for making the event a grand success. She emphasized the importance of such activities in nurturing discipline, unity, and a strong sense of national responsibility among the youth. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the jury members, student volunteers, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
