Report on Parent Awareness Program on Drug Abuse (Under NMBA) A parent awareness program on the early signs of drug abuse and its prevention was organized in the college today on 06/05/2026 under the NMBA initiative. The session aimed to equip parents with practical knowledge to identify and address substance abuse among youth. The program began with introductory remarks by Prof. Masrofa Qadir, and Dr Shamsudin Sheikh who welcomed the participants and highlighted the critical role of parents in early detection and prevention. they stressed that awareness at the family level is the first line of defense against this growing menace. The expert lecture was delivered by Prof. Bilal Ahmad Shah, who addressed the gathering in his engaging and insightful manner. He explained that drug addiction is a serious medical and psychological condition that affects behavior, judgment, and overall well-being. He outlined key early warning signs, including behavioral changes, decline in academic performance, social withdrawal, secrecy, and noticeable physical symptoms. He emphasized that early recognition can prevent long-term harm.
