The Committee Against Sexual Harassment (CASH), Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag, organized an extension lecture and theatrical programme on 15 April 2026 at 11:30 AM in the college auditorium. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Convener, Dr Gousia Khan, highlighting the relevance of awareness, rights, and institutional responsibility in addressing issues of gender and safety. This was followed by a theatrical play titled “Safe Spaces, Strong Voices: Addressing Sexual Harassment in Contemporary Society,” enacted by students of 2nd and 6th Semester. The play depicted situations of harassment and responses within institutional spaces. It emphasized the need for awareness, reporting mechanisms, and collective responsibility. An extension lecture on “Respect, Rights and Responsibility – A Conversation on Gender” was delivered by the resource person, Syed Urfa Ajaz, Prosecuting Officer (G). The lecture outlined key legal provisions and rights related to gender issues. It also addressed the role of individuals and institutions in ensuring accountability and safe environments. The event was conducted under the patronage of Prof (Dr) Khalida Hassan, Principal of the college. The programme was organized by the committee led by Prof Subzar Ahmad Sheikh. The organizing members included Dr Gousia Khan, Prof Sadaf Rafiq Beg, Prof Kouser Fatima, Ms Anjuman Altaf, and Ms Fatima Jeelani (Student Representative).
