Event Details

As part of the ongoing celebrations for the 79th Independence Day, the Debates and Seminar Committee, in association with the Literary Club and Talent Search Committee organized an IntraCollege Seminar on “Role J&K Youth in Achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047” on 6th August 2025 at Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag. The seminar commenced with a warm welcome and introductory address by Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmad Malik, Convener, Debates and Seminar Committee. Prof. Malik eloquently spoke about the enduring legacy of India’s struggle for freedom, the heroic sacrifices made by countless individuals, and the continuing importance of independence in the present-day context. Prof Masood Ahmad Malik Principal of the college stressed upon the role that youth needs to play to realize the objectives set in Viksit Bharat @ 2027. He also set evidences form the historical records highlighting that the destiny of the country resides how its people play their role. The seminar featured active participation from students, who presented interesting and thoughtful views on the theme of independence. Their speeches reflected a deep sense of patriotism and understanding of India’s historical journey. To recognize and appreciate student contributions, certificates and medals were awarded to the winners. Their commendable efforts were celebrated with applause and admiration. The programme was effectively conducted by Ms. Rutba, who ensured the smooth flow of the event. It concluded on a gracious note with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Prof. Touseef Ahmad Sheikh, HoD Clinical Biochemistry who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all speakers, participants, and organizers. The event was held under the overall supervision of Prof. Sabzar Ahmad Sheikh, Convener, Independence Day Celebration Committee, whose valuable guidance and support played a key role in the success of the programme.
